We are pleased to welcome our conference speakers whose professional backgrounds and institutional affiliations reflect the key themes of this conference. From the perspective of national film policy and funding, Roland Teichmann, Director of the Austrian Film Institute, brings a deep understanding of how public institutions shape and support the European film ecosystem. As Director of ORF Television Film, Katharine Schenk is positioned at the heart of public broadcasting, offering insights into commissioning practices and the role of television in sustaining European storytelling.
With an academic lens, Rodrigo Gómez, Professor at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Cuajimalpa, contributes expertise on global media structures, platform governance, and the changing dynamics of the audiovisual sector. Ufuoma Akpojivi, who leads Policy Research and Learning at Advocates for International Development (A4ID), brings a focus on inclusive policy design and the relationship between cultural production and social justice. Representing the voice of the European film and television industry, Juliette Prissard, General Delegate of Eurocinema, works at the intersection of regulation, advocacy, and industry strategy at the European level. Finally, Brigid O’Shea, as Director of the Documentary Association of Europe, brings an independent and transnational perspective on documentary practice, collaboration, and alternative production models.
